So, school has been in for a month. I have already lost my mind, even though my workload this semester is much smaller than it has ever been. I haven't started on grad school applications yet, and I'm wondering why the hell I haven't. SAI is good, Leah took a little so that means I'm a grand-big! I cleaned my house today because I've been neglecting cleaning a lot of things. I miss Keenan, but I've got my ticket for my trip and I'm excited. I enjoy living with Leah, and so far it's working out really well.

Man, I feel really terrible right now, physically. I'm so achey, and really hot, and kind of losing it. I was really starting to feel it about halfway through my shift tonight, and now I feel like a total mess. I don't know what purpose this entry really serves except for me to complain, but maybe I feel better now?

So, just got back from Orlando/Atlanta whirlwind trip. Keenan met my grandparents, it was interesting. We also saw Sonic Youth, which was fun, and briefly ran into my cousin, Matt. I have one month left of summer, and while I'm quite sad that the beginning of the school year means Keenan leaves for California, I'm also looking forward to starting my last year of undergrad!

Some updates: 1. DJing is awesome. I had my first solo shift this past Tuesday, and I didn't have any major screw ups. The only thing that sucks is the 2-6am part, but I'm adjusting. Once class is over, I can sleep whenever I damn well want to, so it'll be easier. 2. Only one more week of class left, hooray! 3. I'm excited for a couple of trips that are coming up, the first to St. George for a couple of nights in a beach house, then to Atlanta to see Sonic Youth. 4. I need new glasses. My lenses are all scratched up and one of the arms is bent. 5. I miss Andy White.

Update: 1) School has been getting a little more involved, but not by much. I got an A on my informative speech, have a test this week and then one more speech and test to go. 2) I've been hired as a DJ at v89 and I start training tomorrow. I'm really excited and can't wait to learn about more music. 3) Kristina pulled out her Nintendo 64 and Keenan and I have been playing Mario 64. My addiction to it came and went really quickly. 4) It's my turn to cook dinner, and I'm having trouble coming up with ideas to please my gastronomically informed boyfriend. 5) My parents are coming to town this weekend and I'm excited about it.

I have one more exam tomorrow, and I'm not taking it seriously - I'm so, so, so, so unimaginably done (mentally), and I just don't care about this class. I actually don't care about any of them, anymore, I just want to go home.
My birthday was wonderful, thanks to all of my friends and Keenan. I love everyone who is in my life, I couldn't be more lucky.

Despite the fact that this semester is one week longer than last, I feel that it has abruptly come to a halt. I managed to let all of my work pile up on me, waiting for the last minute to do it, of course when my brain is preoccupied with other thoughts, like how tomorrow is my birthday, formal, and one year anniversary with Keenan (wow, all in one day). Today, I turned in my last paper and I'm done with my classes. I'm ready for summer, but I'm a little concerned that I have yet to find a job in town, which might prompt my parents to make me come home and work at Universal (worst, worst, worst case scenario).
I have lost 11 pounds since I started Weight Watchers. I feel control returning to my life.

I'm really sick right now, my head is really swollen and my eyes/nose are leaking, and I can't stop sneezing and coughing. I got a little drunk tonight with my girlfriends at the Winery, so I'm wary of taking anything that might interact negatively.
Keenan is in Berkeley right now, I wish I were there, too. His phone is off and I'm being really paranoid. Kiki, I apologize for any crazy messages but I'm drunk.
I started Weight Watchers two weeks ago, so far it is successful. My moods have improved and I've been a much happier, productive individual. I'm hoping I can keep this up and lose a lot of weight, because my self-image issues have become completely unmanageable in the last year or so.
I am not ready for the rain to come back.

Spring break came and went, broke up and got back together in a day, been excited and dismayed about academic pursuits within a week.
My schedule for next year, my FINAL year:

Hindu Texts: Ramayana Peoples of the World French Band Mas N Steel
This schedule does not include my DIS with Dr. Bakan and lessons. I think this is going to be a fairly easy semester.

One more thing: I got the OK to go on the Peru trip in summer 2010, as my graduation present. I can't believe it!

Happenings: 1) Been really depressed and filled with insomnia. I am becoming a zombie, it's really a strain on my whole life. 2) My tire blew out on I-75 when I was driving home to Orlando this weekend. I had to get all of my tires replaced. 3) I'm thinking of submitting an abstract to the SEM conference. 4) Working on internship stuff!

So far, I've been extremely productive. Reading, researching, doing homework; thinking. This is different. I now understand what Keenan was saying to me all semester - you're doin' the work, but how much do you think about it? Sure, I create opinions and think about the material read, but do I pursue it further? My Latin American music class has really prompted me to delve deeper into my mind and think harder about the material I'm presented with. I'm also learning to let go of the idea of right and wrong answers, but theories that are relevent if supported with enough information. I'm incredibly excited about this, and now I can't sleep because I am THINKING about my assignments, preparing what to speak about, realizing what is important.
Research paper topics this semester: Lou Harrison's Double Concerto (for music history), The influence on and of outside cultures in Tropicália (for Latin America). The latter paper will be a much more expansive study of what I essentially edu-blogged about 1.5 year ago. I can't wait.

Music History 1750s- Present: Spilker again, easier material, 2 less article reports. Booyah! Music of Latin America: oh my gosh, I love my teacher, and I think it's going to be a really interesting course. Only two more classes towards my certificate! Communication Disorders: so far, I'm enjoying it, and my teacher is peppy and engaging. The class is 95% female, I wonder how the boys feel. French: sooooo much better than high school French. All instruction en francais, which is cool.
My roommate's recital is this weekend, everybody should come!

I finally feel like I'm all moved into my apartment! I've hung up everything and got a curtain to hide the laundry area. Kristina and I heavy duty cleaned this weekend, it feels nice to live in a place that isn't cluttered and is finally put together.
Today was my ensemble audition, and it was truly the best audition I've ever had at FSU. Practicing for it really made my wrist hurt, though, so I ned to figure out a way to alleviate pain when I play!
School starts tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
